The European Finance Association (EFA) is an international non-profit association with scientific and pedagogical objectives. Its events, including the  53^rd EFA Annual Meeting in Gent (Belgium) are funded by external organizations. Without the financial support of these entities, it would not be possible to organize a successful conference.
